In 2030, a severe locust plague struck, with various species of locusts reproducing in massive numbers, ravaging the globe and causing a serious food crisis. In response, scientists worldwide developed electronic locusts. These electronic locusts emit strong scent signals, massively attracting locusts to mate, causing them to lay infertile eggs or preying on the locusts themselves.
